Hello, I'm Obie. I've fished on the area piers since the 1960's. I think there's a special, almost family like, bond between folks who pound the planks. I hope we can use this forum to share our passion for the challenge that comes from catching fish off the piers.

Hey Obie. Looks like it's going to be a good site. I'll be coming down for a week starting the 7th of April. I'll be fishing PB pier. I talked to you through the old bay bridge forum several years back a few times. I have a drawer full of Mitchell 302's and 402's thanks to your advice. I'm still trying to find a few manuals to go on em but they are hard to come by. Maybe I'll run into you out there.

Glad to have a site to cover my favorite past time; pier fishing on the panhandle! To those I don't know yet, this is the older Ivan and I have had great times on the piers at Navarre and Pensacola for many years. First time was in 1966 when I came down to Pensacola for flight training. My wife and I have been making the trek from Virginia to the panhandle since 1996 and we love it! Just something about pier fishing that I love and the poeple might be the sceret. Navarre was my favorite and then Pensacola, with Okaloosa a distant third. I will see you all on May 3rd!

I started fishing pensacola back in '02 when I was down for vacation, I had the 706 on a big ten foot wal-mart rod and hooked on a 30 lb+ mackerel, I lost it on the pilings but it still turned into an addiction for me, I tend to blend in pretty good as I have a few custom rods and the 706 and all that so most people never even know I'm from Arkansas which is a good thing, I'm writing right now from Hilton Head Island South Carolina, not a pier in sight, water quality is terrible, I'm pissed!

For 35 years I've fished the piers from Dauphin Island to Panama City Beach.
I love EVERY time I get over to the Panhandle to share in that great fishery.

My name is Bill and I am a USAF Firefighter currently stationed in Colorado Springs, CO. I was stationed in Panama City for almost 10 years and miss The Emerald Coast big time.
