If I just go to the site and log in, nothing happens. It won't let me log in.   If some one sends me a PM, I can click on the link in the email message and then that screen will let me log in.  I've tried this over and over and it is always the same.  I can sneak in the back door but can't just come to the site and log in.
Wonder if it has anything to do with Internet Explorer, ver  8.

On second thought, maybe the mods decided a low life like me should always use the back door.

Jim

Hey Jim. I don't get what you are asking.    You say you can't log in? You wouldn't have been able to post that message if you were not logged in. No one can post replies or start new threads unless they are a registered member that is logged in.

Calvin, I can log in if I sneak in the back door by clicking on the link in an email message that notifies me I have a PM.  Another way I can log in is if I click on one of the links on the left of the screen.  This time, I clicked on "You might be a pier rat if...", then I clicked on 'post reply'.  This pops up a login screen that will actually log me in.  But if I go to the main forum index and click on "log in", either at the top or the bottom of the page, it won't log me in.  Hope that makes sense.

Jim

OK, it has stopped allowing me to log in if I click on one of the links under "Popular Topics" or "Sticky Articles".  Now the only way I can log in is through the link in a notification email that I have received a private message.  If I click on that link, it brings up a login page that will actually allow me to log in.  Until I got that private message from Charlie, I couldn't log in at all.

Jim it almost has to be something with your browser's security settings.

Hmmm. I don't know Jim. I wonder if it has to do with the domain names?    Try logging in with these urls and let me know which ones work.

I think I have the problem solved now.  I deleted the link I had in Favorites then came to the forum index and added that page to Favorites again.  This time it seems to work.  Don't know why that Favorites link quit working.  It always worked before.

I have the same trouble when using my IPod to access the site. If I go from email links I can log in, but if the front door, no luck.

Obie, I tried lowering all the browser security settings until I felt like I was sitting in front of my computer all naked and vulnerable.  Nothing worked until I replaced the link in Favorites.

Both of these work for me whether I'm logged in or not

http://www.emeraldcoastpierfishing.com/
http://emeraldcoastpierfishing.myfastforum.org/index.php

Does it make ANY difference to anyone if they use the login script at the top or bottom of the index page?

For sure, be sure to check off the box to remain logged in.
And after you get he index up, do like Jim did and resave the URL to your Favorites (overwrite if it asks you).

Jim;

Not to worry. I had the same thing happen to me.

The Emerald Coast Pier Board is hosed up.

use ecpff.com as an URL and you'll be OK.

Hey Charlie, glad to see you got logged back in

There was a guy on the GSPPier told me last week he had a problem posting until he used one of the domain names at the bottom of the page
