After the sun came out this afternoon I decided to take a ride to Dauphin Island to check out the DIPier.
Got there about 3:30 and the pier house was CLOSED
It was a nice afternoon though, sunny mild and the wind was light from the north  8)

Not much room for water to flow west of the pier...

And the bar east of the pier has continued to grow out from the beach...

It was a sad sight and I didn't stay long.
I hated not to at least wet a hook though so I went over to my sister & brother-in-laws house on the soundside.
That turned out to be a good move
Twin 13" flounder in the first 30 minutes of grubbing around the seawall & docks. Supper for tommorrow night  8)

I hung around trying until sunset but those two were the only bites I got   :sleepy2:
It was worth the price of admission though  8)

Sure was glad to shake off the 'cabin fever' and enjoy a nice winter afternoon. Thank You Lord

Thanks
I think the pier was closed because no one was out there fishing this afternoon, so they shut down early instead of waiting until 5pm.

Nice fish and cool pics dude.

I wonder if the pier makes more money in one day than the amount the worker gets paid in one day for watching the pier?
