Yesterday When I was trying to get my king away from Flipper, it started smoking and grinding. Now when I try to pull the drag it grinds and sticks. I do not want to take it apart and stuff because I'm afraid I will mess it up. Do any of you have any idea what might be wrong with it?

I know I'm gunna need parts, so if any of you know where I can get some please let me know.

Thanks,

Sam it could easily be that the keyed washer/plate under the nut that holds the rotating up on is worn out.  This happens quite often to 706's and it'll make everything seem out of whack.  If you can't figure it out let me know and I'll fix you up.

You can also just type in pennparts.com and it will take you directly the Scott's Bait and Tackle page dedicated to those Penn parts we need so bad.

Obie should put up a sticky about Scott's since this will be at least the third time I've noticed someone looking for parts for a Penn and they always come up.  I've been getting parts from them for 3 or 4 years now and they run a class operation.

Obie should put up a sticky about Scott's (or put up a link to their site and hit them up for a few ad bucks) since this will be at least the third time I've noticed someone looking for parts for a Penn and they always come up.  I've been getting parts from them for 3 or 4 years now and they run a class operation.

Does Half Hitch still carry Penn parts? I used to get them from the one in Panama City.

Thanks for the link Obie , I'm certain it will come in handy in the future.

If all I have to do is ask, how about a million dollars in a brown in a brown paper sack. What you blame me for trying?
