Fished from 5:30-10AM this morning. The wind was blowing 15-18 knots early from the SW, strong current seemed to be going in the same direction and thus baits were ripping from right to left and back to the pier pretty quickly...water wasn't clear...visibility on the end was probably 10 feet.

I hooked the first king, went a solid 25 lbs and dumped a decent portion of my line before she started coming back. I would have liked to have taken her to gaff down current, but I wasn't able to persuade the fish to do that. Long story short, it was a pretty difficult gaff shot, and the guy's gaff was a little on the small side. I had a difficult time keeping the fish's head up, and she earned her freedom via the pillar...somewhat disappointing, but the fish was a bit on the large side for me to eat anyway.

Soon after, someone else hooked a king at least as big as mine...long run...ended up biting through his wire leader.

Then...the bobos showed up...probably 10 fish on within 10 minutes at the end...some on baits, some on jigs. In the middle of the bobo run, I get a supersized spanish..have a picture i'll post when i get home from work (don't normally post pics of spanish, but this one is pretty big.) AFter putting the spanish in the cooler, I send another bait out, and bobo on...i gave the bobo away.

Then the bite died...The wind was dying as I left around 10....not a great day numbers wise, but there was a decent bite on for a while. All fish were caught within a 60-90 minute time period, probably between 6:30 and 8.

Now, I'm sitting behind my desk at work thinking about the afternoon bite.

other catches I saw included a couple of legal flounder and a 5 or so foot tiger shark. I have some pictures of the tiger I'll post, but they are from my camera phone so quality isn't great.

i hooked the second king and he chewed my leader into choked another 2 bobos 1 fat 15 1/2" flounder several throw backs and 1 more nice one lost on the way up some other guys were flounder fishing as well and got a couple leagles mr bob got one that looked to be 14 or 15 saw a pair of sails and didnt have a bait but one of the guys floundering had a king rig with a cig on it laying against the rail so i yelled for him to bring it over and as soon as the cig hit the water both fish lit up and made a b-line for the cig the bigger of the 2 got there first and grabed the bait but i think the guy got to excited as soon as the fish hit he jerked and ended up jurking half the bait away if he would have let stay in the water i think they would have hit it again they looked to be starved
