Hook the kids up with some sabiki rigs. There is stilly plenty of Hardtails for a steady bite.

My last name is fudge, so google suggested fudgeorama. Easy to remember.
I think I read on here where someone recommended 20# gold hook rig, of course my local WM doesn't have it.

KIDS SATURDAYOIP IS HAVING A KIDS TOURNAMENT SATURDAY AND WILL HAVE PLENTY OF SABIKI'S, RODS AND REELS, BAIT, ETC. CONTACT THE PIER FOR DETAILS. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY. THERE IS PLENTY OF OF BAIT, LY'S MOSTLY, OUT BY THE END OF THE PIER.

How do you all fish the baits? Through the tail and freeline or soak on the bottom?
Ms. Pat, thanks for telling me who to contact. We are planning to attend the kids fishing day, but I didn't know who to call for more details, now I do.

RUNNING AWAY FROM KIDS HOW DID YOU GUESS THAT STEVIE...NOT ONLY THE KIDS BUT MOST OF THE GOOGAN PARENTS ARE THE PROBLEM....DON'T THINK I CAN TAKE THAT KIND OF CHAOS OR CLUSTER OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT.  MY BROTHER WHO LIVES IN MAGNOLIA SPRINGS INVITED ME OVER TO GIVE HIM MORE INSTRUCTIONS ON PIER FISHING, IMAGINE THAT... HE HAS ALWAYS THOUGHT HE KNEW MORE THAN ME ABOUT EVERYTHING, BUT IT AIN'T SO WHEN IT COMES TO PIER FISHING... ARE YOU COMING DOWN??

Freeline them for the bigger fish. Look under do it yourself at how to on king leaders. you can also search "snobbling".
By the way, welcome to the forum.

The Rootin Tootin Rodeo kicks off at OIP this Saturday from 9-12. For $10, the kids get admission to the pier, A free rod and reel that they get to keep, bait, a T-Shirt and lunch...it's a great day for the kids and yes...it's Googanville out there for a bit, but they typically stay towards the beach...My granddaughters went last year and had a BLAST!!!

hey robert the ugly red one is the one on the right, it belongs to patsy huggins. its the one she caught the 43 pounder on. send me the 100 bucks and tell her she has your reel.

Last year when all the kids invaded the pier I was ticked off, but I stopped for a minute and thought about those that helped me out when I was little, and I decided to "adopt" a couple of kids and help them out. Ended up actually helping some of the kid catch a few whiting. Several single moms taking theirs out for the first time, was actually kind of fun if you let yourself have some fun doing it.
