i think you have enough 706's steve..... i really need a rod so i think im gonna hold out for a few days and see if anything comes up and if nothing does ill be glad to sell it . this reel was bought in 05 and used maybe three times it is in new condition not a scratch on it and the gold anodization on handle and spool is immaculate if i had the box it came in you wouldnt know its not new.

When mine found out how much people want for them at the pier and how much I was paying for them compounded with the cost of a pack of cigarettes per day(not me, she smokes), life got easier. EX: 3.50(VERY cheap) x 10 days=35.00.Doesn't take long to add up to a very good reel that should last for more then a day and shouldn't shorten my life...ex-smoker...me...please forgive the sanctimony, smoke em if you got em.

What is amazing to me is all of the guys that I see at the pier that bought their reel for a one time trip to the pier and you can tell they just never got into it. It has been sitting in the closet for the past ten years.

 some of us lived here in the past and still have their gear. even though I only get down here occasionally i fish off the texas coast every chance i get . I understand the googans get on the locals nerves ,when i lived here the term was garbo and we talked about them too. by the way i bought a nice 706 at a pawn shop thursday for 80 and fished it the past two days needs cleaning and a good grease job but works perfect

sorry guys , i have a deal worked out to trade for a rod. I dont think you guys want to pay what i payed for it which was 180 (i could be wrong though) i dont need the money but i at least need to break even so i figured i wouldnt lose this way. they are out there to be had though , i could have bought one on the pier for 125 plus i bought that one at the pawn shop for 80 so keep looking

you paid 180 bucks for a 706z, the one on the pier for 125 bones would have to be special at 125 dollars. i can't imagine 180 bucks, but i have seen'em go for that. i even sold one for a little more on gulf shores pier this year, but it was new. good luck on the trade..

nice green ones are going for 300 on the gs pier i sold one beater black n gold for 200 charlie has been buyin them and sellin them for 300 all day long on the pier I have two brand new ones i wont get ride of and my greenie i wont sell and then the one i got from you steve i put all brand new parts on it it has new frame new bearings new shaft pinion main all new except for the rotor but i got a brand new spool on ebay for 54 so its pretty much new eccept for the rotor lol then i have another 704 convertion with rotor i still need another spool for

180 is kind of high especially when its x2 . they would only sell them as a pair so it was 375 total . the only reason i bought them was because they are both in new condition and when i say new i mean new both reels are absolutely perfect , not a scratch on them period . I feel better about it though after hearing that some are going for 2-3 hundred. Ive got this trade thing goin but if for some reason it falls through ill put it up for sell and ill post it on here again . I would rather somebody get it thats actually gonna use it plus keep it in the fam so to speak. thanks again guys
