another powder coatit needs something to snazz it up a bit, any suggestions on putting something where the medallion goes. maybe a beer bottle cap or something. help me out fellas.

Really cool stuff Steve. Is there a chance that you can hook us up with the guy that does these for you? Say if I was to send him a stripped down Mitchell, what would he charge?
I have been considering getting the stuff together to do the powder coating my self, for reels, jigs, etc. along with alot of other ideas that I have like powder coating the steel parts of the drums that I build. The trouble currently is space. I need to take some time off fishing and build my self a shop. |

A round piece of turquious might look different. I saw some ground up and mixed in epoxy as a base for big sharks tooth necklasses that looked good. | ||||

this is a phillipino quarter (yeah I know its foreign but who wants to waste a quarter?) silver really shows up well on black, but your real is white so... [img] 
my personal favorite, the "chubbly bubbly"... a landshark or corona might be more appropriate though... [/img] |

One of the locals here in PCB has an Indian arrowhead on his reel. You can't go wrong with a nice Gators decal though.

It's cool and all but I like the red one better. White seems like a color that would show a lot of blemishes. Kinda like if you had white carpet in your house. You better be a clean freak or everything is gonna show. But you take good care of your reels, except when they're laying on the deck , so it probably won't make a difference.

yea, i like the red better also. this is my sons idea and this is the most interest he has showed in fishing in 18 years  so i tried it. if it gets him on the pier its worth it .

It looks tough! I do agree about the color choice though. It is well done and nice looking, but darker colors are better for ALL fishing equipment in my view, with a few exceptions.
But yeah it is awesome when the kids WANT to spend time with dad. I have enjoyed this fully, this year with my son. It has gotten to the point that he would rather spend time with me than just about anyone, (I think.) There is nothing more special than that. I have just ordered a Custom rod from Ernie Cavitt to try to lure the Daughter in.... pray that goes well! |
