Chumming for kings and bonito.Have any of you guys heard of chumming from a boat for bonito and kings? Because I saw this Tv show today, and they just threw a chum bag in the water, and with in fifteen minuets they were catching a ton of bonito.

yea you can use a chum bag but u can pretty much us anything if u can find a peir that is loaded down with lys and can throw a net, load up, i have found that throwing pounds of lys over the side of the boat with bring tuna, kings dolphine and alot other fish, give it a try with the lys it will work panamma city is loaded with lys and u can throw a net off it

Yep, we were chumming red snapper up to the top of the water with bonito chunks last saturday and kings moved in pretty heavily. A dead cig wouldn't last more than 15 seconds on the flat line.

down in south fla piers, i've seen them chum off the end of the pier.

you can also frezze some midhaden or how ever u spell it they work freaking good for chum with a good oil slick they put off grind them up in a blinder and drill some holes in a 5 gallon bucket and throw the frozzen mid's inthe bucket and throw it over there will be fish everywhere u will havea chum slick for miles

So how far do I have to go offshore?
Also do you need a fishfinder to see if the fish are attracted to it, or do you just see them near the top of the water?
Also would you just throw a jig out if you see some?

i dont know anybody that throws jigs at king mackeral. going to about 30 to 50ft of water would probably be the best. you could probably just see them up top. you can buy menhaden at gbbt or just catch your own. you can also buy menhaden milk or oil.
