cobia jigswhat are the prefered hooks for a 3oz cobia jig? i know how to do the bondo mold. but i heard of people using a bank sinker for the general shape of the head. how do you do this ?

the generic answer for hooks would probably be the mustad 3407DT 9/0. you can bend the hook, or use a brass eyelet. that just the standard that is commonly used. you can use whatever hook you want, just factor in cost, strength, how it holds a point, etc... 8/0 or 9/0 is most common.

Don't be afraid tp experiment with different hooks. Just test a new one before you actually throw ar a fish.

youre close to destin right? bass pro is going to have the best selection/prices ive seen out there. ordering bucktails is cheaper, but if youre in a hurry, bass pro is like 4 or 5 per tail. and they are good quality from what i remember. (theyre in the fly fishing section)

Use a long shank hook of your choice and a brass eyelet.

you can get a box of 100 3407DT 9/0 mustads for like $25. 25 cents per hook aint bad if you ask me. if youre just making a few, bass pro has some gamakatsu's that are like .50-1.00 apiece. they come in a pack of 2. i really enjoyed using those hooks 2 years ago.
