cork tapealmost done with my first rod. but if you use cork tape how do yall keep the ends from coming up ?

they make crazy designs with twine for the ends of cork tape out here but that's not really necessary

just enough to hold the ends down (maybe 1/8 or 1/4 inch) then flex coat over that. something i do on the butt section is go to the end of the blank with the tape, then epoxy a larger butt cap over the tape.
