Destin Princess Trip 4/23Hopped aborad the destin princess for a free trip offshore. mingoes were everywhere and redsnapper were eatin well also. no grouper or AJs to speak of. however, while we were offshore (15 miles or so) some lady was reeling up a mingo on her 2 hook rig and the mingo got ate, somehow the hook sank in. after a few minutes of one of the mates working on the fish, we saw what it was, about a 40 lb cobia, and he had a friend. i proceeded to snatch a mingo out of the bait well and pitch it to the other, slightly larger, fish...scarf! jacked em up and after about 10 minutes or so, put him on the deck, 45lbs. the other fish was landed as well, and he was 43 lbs. quite a pair to make the day!

that fish is pointless without your favorite fishing buddy beside you! i should have just quit work and gone with you anyways. oh well. congrats! we'll get out there and snapper/ling fish tomorrow
