Friday 10/9/09Fished from 5:30-2:30. Strong South wind the whole time. LY's & hardtails were around for bait. Some threadfins were also available. Only about 10 Kings hooked while I was there. Some Spanish were also caught. 6 or 7 Sails seen with 1 hookup. Flipper was there throughout the day so that is probably why the fish never showed up in good numbers.
I did get spooled by something big. Things were slow so I was using my gotcha. I cast out and pretty much as soon as it hit the water my drag started screaming. It never stopped and I was spooled in about 10 seconds  I had atleast 250 yards of PP on my reel. It was crazy, I'm guessing it was a big King but never saw the fish so who knows.
Sonny did catch a nice King, 18.1 lbs to put him in 3rd for the tournament. Maybe the fish will show up for a late afternoon run.
