Why does this come up so much here. BT108 lamiglass is the closest thing i know. you might have to take some from the tip. The forcast e-glass blanks are medium to slow but are only 8'. There are so many blanks out there that will fish as good or better. Nothing can ultimaly replace any one blank so we must try to move on. can i get a halleluhia, hallelluhia or hallelluia. How about a amen.

I think it's a fair question as not everyone has access to various rod blanks. Gators are disappearing but you can still find a few, A fella brought me a T90H to build yesterday, he purchased it locally.
I'm sure a lot of folks are looking for a less expensive glass or eglass blank, myself included. CUI's are a bit fat and require a 24 reelseat but they might do. Lami's are almost too slow, but there's a lot of models I've never seen or tried so I'm watching this thread as well. Several folks in the area are pushing for Forcast to make a 9 ft blank, I hope it happens. Jace I feel your pain.

I don't think they're the same pier, unless something's changed. There are a few threads about the "new" gators around here somewhere.

Here my understanding. I know that last years of Gator where pretty much crap. They were being made by Chaos who bought the mandrels from the prior owner of Chaos, who had gotten the mandrels back in 91'ish from gator guy (don't remember his name, but founding company of gator) They had financial issues for several years, and many people noticed the outcome in their pre built shelf rods, custom rods, and mainly gator blanks. They pretty much ran the gator name to the ground. NOW the guy who originally had sold Chaos to these guys, is taking over the gator name, cuz that was like his baby. He had sent me an email (gonna try and dig it up) but in short said he was personally gonna bring the gator blanks back to what they use to be, and needless to say he was a bit upset with what they had done with his brainchild. I think the name of his company was going to be like boomerang rods, or boomerang fishing. He said in his email he should have new productions of gators running by early fall. If I am allowed I can post his contact info on here, I guess the proof will be in the pudding once they start cranking them out.

I think they will still be called gators (he is very fond of them) but he could not recover the Chaos name cuz it REALLY left a sour taste in many peoples mouth and wallets. I know on several other boards where members were out over $1000 waiting on custom rod orders for months, and could not get in touch with them. Then over night they just disappeared, bankruptcy. They left alot of people high and dry. I will try to get his contact info then, since there is alot of gator blank fans on here and post it.
