Mitchell 302/303 ShimsDoes any one have some Mitchell shims? I have a couple of reels that are needing some attention in this area. I need a better mesh of the gear teeth!

i think thomas norvelle in ft. walton might have some. call the OIP and they'll know how to get ahold of him. if the play is excessive and your sideplate has a two-piece bushing, you can actually drive the inner bushing out to take up some slack...it only takes a couple of whacks with a small wooden dowel.

Thanks Ferd. On one of the reels is seems to be a bit excessive. My son was fighting a 20# king thursday and the thing was slipping and having the rotor turning with out the handle turning when it had pressure on it.
Thomas was on Dan Russell thursday and he was the one that gave me the idea but he didn't have any at the time, and oddly enough he had left before the trouble all started.
