Mon 28 Sept

I've been without web access for the past couple of days but there was nothing to report anyway.

This morning, during my 0500 til 0700 stay, I saw three Kings hooked.  One was landed, one was lost at the gaff, and one was stolen by Flipper.  Still, that's an improvement over the last few days.

Still no Spanish.  Maybe they fear my bubble rig.  Ha!  That comment was just for you Ms Pat.

SAILS IN THE GALE

TWO SAILS BROUGHT TO THE PIER AND POPPED OFF - IT IS A NO KILL SAIL ZONE  SAW SEVERAL MORE. DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS THE SAME ONES COMING IN OR NOT. THE FIRST TWO CAME IN, DOUG HOOKED UP AND ONE SPEARED MY THREADFIN BUT DIDN'T EAT (DOUGH HAD A NEEDLE FISH FOR BAIT). DOUG GOT IT TO THE PIER AND POPPED IT OFF.  THEN THE OTHER YOUNG MAN HOOKED UP ON THE NEXT ONE. A FEW KINGS, NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT.  BUT SOME BIG SPANISH WERE CAUGHT ON CIGS AND THREADFINS. BAIT WAS PLENTIFUL AS WERE THE BABY JACKS THAT TORE UP EVERYTHING THROWN OUT TO CATCH REAL BAIT.  WIND WAS OUT OF THE WEST AT 20+ MPH AND IT WAS BLOWING A GALE. I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED TO SEE MORE BIG FISH, BUT ONLY SAW DINKS.  TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY.

Got there about 3:30...a few kings were about along with Threads, HT's and an occasional cig...most kings in the 10-15 range with a couple of skyrockets...water was a bit stained from the hard WSW 15-20...had gone out earlier in the day and the water was gorgeous...Kings from the AM until after I left at 5:30...

Nice reports. I may have to get over there again soon. I have not been since Russell/Fields opened but heck I know a large amount of the locals from their trips over to PCB. It would almost be like being at home... LOL

THE NORTH WIND SHALL BLOW

THE NORTH WIND DID BLOW AND THE MACKS AND SAILS WERE A NO SHOW.  I DID CATCH A FEW CIGS WAYYYYYYY OUT. EXPECT MORE TO BE MOVING IN WITH THE COOLER WEATHER.  THE ONLY THINGS I SAW WERE: THE POR-PISS, RAMORA BY THE NUMBERS, A FEW BLUE FISH IN THE DRAW, BABY JACKS, A FEW HERRING AND THREADFINS, AND A FEW HARDTAILS.  THERE FROM  6:45 TO 11:30.  HOPE THE AFTERNOON GETS BETTER.
