Monday, 7 Sept 09HAPPY LABOR DAY to all...and here's the news...got there at 5am...wind was NE at 5-10..water was stained but OK...not alaot early...a few kitty cats and a smattering of Skippies and Spanish...about 8, a nice BIG school of spanish came in and they were hitting anything that was moving...for all of 15 minutes...then the air breather decided to come in and foul things up...and that was that...went back at 2...why...I dunno...but I got there as the rains started...there WAS a nice SE 15 or so but then the storms came and nothing...a few spansih were being had along with Skippiesaurus's...left at 6:30 with 6 total spansih for the day...but one highlight was about 4, bait was showering about 400 yds out...I took my binocs out and saw they were ballyhoo...then, right where I was looking, a 30# Blackfin skyed with a ballyhoo in his mouth...at that point, they were 200 yds out, but they didn't get any closer....

Happy Labor Day to you also Dev. Good report. You just made my day with the blackfin sighting. Now I will not count the days till I get back. I will be counting the minutes.
Hope you catch one...

The bait showering happened on Sat too right before the storm. I figured it must be some blackfins (just reminded me of when the used to run that close to the pier).
I stayed til almost 9:30. Big wads of spanish started coming in (hundreds at a time). But it was short lived, flipper came in and ran them off .
