We were out there 6am-10:30am. It was a nice day out with just enough of a breeze to keep us cool. Started off slow as I tried to get some bait with a sabiki rig but the bait was very skiddish. I switched to a smaller sabiki and added dead shrimp bits to the hooks. That did the trick. I was able to start pulling up bait after that. I was really surprised that the usual bobbing the sabiki rig up and down didnt work. I instead just dropped the rig in the water with the shrimp on and let the fish take care of the rest.

The three of us that were out there all caught some lesser amberjack with one kept that was legal. I caught a pretty good size hardtail I thought about keeping for bait but we all had a baitfish already on so I threw it back instead. I did see some kings that people that had already caught early that morning. There were a some guys chasing a couple but never did hook up on em.

I fileted the amberjack when I got home and let it sit in some milk for a few hours. Baked it in the oven with butter and lemon pepper. Well that wasnt long enough. That fish has a pretty strong taste and I doubt I will keep one in the future.
