Navarre Sound 10/25/09
This is the same "knocker rig" that I used for the Speckled Trout above. Notice how bad the circle hook is bent.
This is what bent it:
The Redfish took about 20 minutes and was caught on a Stradic 2500 / 6.5 ft Calcutta combo and almost spooled me (8# Power Pro) minus a few wraps. Other than those 2 fish above I didn't catch much except feeding my live shrimp to a bunch of trash.

I've had them reds bend and break stainless steel mustad jig hooks, they are some bad hombres.

Cool story involving that Red. As I said before I was almost spooled. Originally hooked him on the flats but he pulled my jon boat out close to the channel marker. The fish himself was in the channel. Here comes this boat barreling down on us and I'm thinking he's gonna run over the line and then swamp us with his wake. The guy sees me bowed up, stops, and waits for me to land it. And you could hear applauses coming from his boat when we were snapping pics. I thought that was pretty cool and a very rare show of respect and hospitality in this day and age.
