I'm sure some of you know that Roddy has been in the hospital for a week or so. He isn't doing very well at all so like him or not he has been part of our fishing lives forever so if you get a second drop a little prayer if you are inclined to do that sort of thing.

I'm sorry to hear that. I got to know Roddy a little this Spring and as far as I'm concerned, he's a great guy and a better fisherman. I hope he comes through this with flying colors and my prayers are with him and his family.

He has a bad ticker. Ended up with an infection in a valve now has a big clot in his lung and another in his leg.

He's been my friend for many years. I'm very, very concerned.

Gene and I went and saw him on Sunday, July 12th and he wasn't feeling or looking so well. We need to go see him again. I hope somebody has brought him some fishing magazines by now. Roddy will fight and pull through this but he needs our thoughts and prayers.

he said he was feeling a little better but he said the night before the nurse gave him a double dose of zanex and he was up all night sick
he told us he was sceduled for open heart surgerey in a week or two so we need to keep in our thoughts until he gets out of all this
he is a great guy and i hope and pray he can get over all of this

Hey everyone Roddy was released from the hospital this last Friday. I have not spoken with him but I'm pretty sure he must be doing much better.

This is Obie ( I went back to my original forum name) I just got the word Roddy went back into the hospital this last weekend with kidney issues. Gulf Breeze Baptist but I'm not sure of his room number.

that man is an idol to me , i have none him since i was 8 years old im 24 now, he tought me so many things on how to set a hook on a huge ling or how to hook a bait to catch a king and how to rig up a chum rig to catch cig, if this man goes i will be dev. The sole of fishing will leave my mind and my heart its like everytime he is there he just makes me what to fish harder and harder and try to out fish him but god for bid that will ever happen. lol I am so freaking lucky to live here in Navarre and no all of the local's that i have grown up with u guys are my idols and if one of u left i would be crushed to ,rody i hope u get beter man i have praid everynight for u since you have had trouble, god will help u , he will heal u , u have no reason to go,you mind cant beset free yet and i will fight for u not to leave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another update as of 5:30pm Sunday the 9th of August:

Spoke to Debbie Pate at Fort Pickens and Roddy had just gotten HOME from the hospital!!!!

Told his wife when she got off work to bring him home some Kentucky Fried Chicken he was starved!!!!

Darrell spoke to him on the phone and told him they changed his antibiotics and next thing you know he's made an almost miraculous recovery!

Personally I think all the prayers helped too!
