penn 705z questioni just got a penn 705z and while playing with it at first i relized that the drag didnt work. i took the reel apart, cleaned and lubed it and put it back together and still nothing. i was able to get the drag to work once but after removing the spool and putting it back on it didnt work again. this is my first older penn and was just wondering if im missing something? it seems like the spool is catching and not going all the way down and the teeth arent lining up with the clicker. sorry so long just wanted to get all the info in.

drag stack probably out of order. take the clip out and take the drag stack out and replace in this order top to bottom... also it will take you turning the spoll back and forth to line it up as it goes down...

One common issue on Penn spools is that they don't go all the way on without a little love. Before putting on the drag nut, spin/twist the spool around a little and see if it goes all the way on. If it does see post above.

Another way is to take the spool off, turn it around backwards. It aligns the washers easier this way, then put it back on the right way.
