perfectionrecieved 3 defected perfection guides. has anybody else had this problem ?

I'm pretty sure the new perfection guides are made by pacbay, and I've had several defective pacbays.

3 had broken welds

Yep, same here, broken welds on the ring.

if its just the weld from the brace to the ring, really and truthfully, the guide is still strong enough to fish. depending on how visible the blemishes are, id still use them, but give them a call. or call and rant to the distribution company you ordered from.
what sizes are they? i have at least one of almost every black perfection size, so if you want to get started building your rod and dont want to wait on shipping them back, and waiting.... we'll just swap and ill take care of the problems.

I've received some with the ring weld broke and unfortunately a few broke after they were wrapped.

no its all good i went to half hitch today and hand picked some new pac bays. im just gonna do that from now on.
also the tip top says size 9. but my size nine tip wont slide over it. im new so im sure i screwed up. what did i do wrong ?

check your pms.
you did nothing wrong. like i said in that message, i usually dont go with the charts. (especially on glass blanks as they have a little more +/- factor for their sizings) also, make sure you are matching the tube size, not ring size with your tip. best thing is just go by half hitch or any other shop when you have the rod with you and put a few on there, and pick what feels best.
