pier gaffi going to be making a pier gaff. how many hooks should i put on it 4,5, or 6?

I would say mine has 4 on it i always am thinking 5 would be perfect I think if you put more than 5 it will be harder to stick 2 hooks in a fish than one i have seen one hook bounce of alot of fish so i think myself 5 is about the most i would put on one i have gaffed literarily hundreds of kings also make the shaft of the gaff at least no less than 14-16 inches the longer the better i have seen those small gaffs like rock around if they were longer they wouldn't bounce all over the place so much give them more up force to stick the fish you know
