Saturday, 3 Oct 09Got there about 4...heard through the grapevine that a good cig and spanish bite occured in the early AM...when I got there, wind was South at 10 and water was stained...but fishable...about 4:30, Lionell gets the only king I saw and it weighed in at 20.4 lbs...good enough for not only 1st place in the pier tourney, but also for 1st in the Destin Rodeo.  Iright at sundown, a couple of spanish were had but that was about it...we did see at about 5:45 or so a couple of footballs within spoon range and doug threw one, but no such luck...left at 7...with ZERO...ZIP...NIL...NADA...

Yeah, the morning ended up being pretty good. Got several big spanish and lost a few. It's fun watching those 4 and 5 pounders blow up on baits. But the afternoon really sucked. Only 3 kings, 2 landed.
