Sun Nov 1 DI beach report

As usualy, I celebrated the time change by fishing an extra hour today
It was cool about 57 air with a north breeze about 10-15mph.
The morning started early with sunrise at 5:05 CST

Not much fishing action on the east end, just a lot of muddy water and a few pinfish for starters.

So I moved over to Pelican Bay and walked the beach to the Golf Course.
I saw some mullet and bull minnows along the way, but nothing in the way of gamefish.
Out on the point I hooked some kindof submarine that ripped off 75 yards without slowing up much.
Mussa been a bullred, but it broke off and took my Gulp with it

On the return trip I did luck into a nice speck on a Gulp shrimp...

Then two more on a Kastmaster spoon...

And this feisty little redfish on my ultralite...

But the best run came from this surpise...

After that the bite died, I did hook another mullet that pulled off after a few minutes.
All fish were released after the pics anyway.
So I went back over to the DIPier and saw this sorry sight (those are 15# bullreds

Still it had been a fine morning with some good pulls and it was just a glorious day to be out on the beach.
Thank You Lord

Thanks guys.

Yep, GSPPier is still open (not sure when they will change hours).
Your best bet for flounder is to get some bull minnows or small LYs and try the pier of one of the passes.

Very nice pics. Those specks are really pretty.

Any idea on what caused the demise of those bulls?

They realized that they had crossed the Alabama /Florida state line...

Thanks guys

I'm not sure about what did the reds in.
Actually there were at least 5 scattered over a 50 foot area.
No obvious sign of trauma (net, gaff, hook, etc.)
But the stink was too fierce for a close inspection

It could have been natural causes, as there was a high water event at the end of last week.
That might have been related somehow (stranding maybe
