the bit was on Saturday morningwell lets just say the lord was with us and made it a bountyful morning.my nephew and I left his dock on the Blackwater Bay and went to where the x-spot was at again. Got there at arround 5:30 am and had a strong west wind. so strong that useing the trolling motor was useless and had to use my little handy dandy drop anchor.we caught trout from then till arround 8:00 am with just about anything we put on a jig head. But i did notice that the rootbeer or pumpkin colors were more effective.we brought 9 slot trout home and just a guess I would say we released some where in the neiborhood of 30 to 40 trout. Boy this morning reminded me of when I was a kid and wade fishing the grass beds of Robinson Point. Goes to show you that if you do your home work and fish the tides correctly the blessing's will be upon you.

Nice report. It's always great to hear that there's still some decent schools of specs. How's the water holding up with the steady rains? Muddy?

water clearitywith all the rain the water tends to be a little cloudy depending on where your at and the wind plays a big factor as well. toward the mouth of Blckwater river, with a west wind the west side in places is fairly clear. As for on down the bay and into East bay and beyond the wind keeps it churned up pretty good. But a week ago when I fished on Friday there was no wind and the bays were in good shape. But with no wind brings the heat, and arround 9 or 10 it's time to hunt some shade. Opey you need to fish with me one morning when we can catch the tide right.
