Tips

Can anyone give me tips on how to build my own custom king, ling, and spanish rod???Please notify me on every one...

its pretty simple once someone shows you how to work the thread. but truthfully, you can get a rod blank, some guides, and a roll of electrical tape and you could go to town and fish with that! from there its more a matter of how "pretty" you want it. guide sizing and spacing is fairly basic but does vary from one rod to another, and foam/cork is just a matter of preference (i like cork tape or no grip at all to be skinnier).

Hey Gino, Welcome to the forum. Building a fishing rod isn't difficult but it would be hard for me to describe everything here in print. Here's a couple of links for you to follow, then come back here and ask about what you don't understand.

Obie's sdvice and the Mud Hole link is right on, and I have another
suggestion. When you get to the Mud Hole web site, order one of
their catalogs. In addition to the rod building components, the front
part of the catalog has many of the basic steps in rod building all laid
out with pictures so you can't go wrong. Since the catalog is free,
you can't beat the price!
Gino

Thanks skipperq1
