Wed. 16 SeptI was there from before daylight until 0700 again this morning. Nothing worth waking up for. No Kings caught while I was there and I only saw about three Spanish caught. They were hammer handle size and the Gotcha I had tied on was almost as big as the Spanish. I use a two oz. Gotcha so the small Spanish will leave me alone.
Went back out there at 0845 but met Sal and Bobby Barkley coming off the end of the pier. They said it was completely dead so I turned around and went back home. Did get to meet Paul Skim while he is down here. Hope the fishing improves while he is here although I believe he said he has already caught a couple of nice Kings.

Around 4 PM, my penn 550 screamed so hard.
I thought it was a big shark. However, it was a 35 pound king! I got my limit today. 35# and 15#.

sweet  i was starting to get a little worried. i will be there about 2:00 tomorrow. was started to get a little worried  where are the fish. nancy and i are planning to bring the fish with us  be there friday morning and afternoon as well. hopefully sat. and sun. too. see you guys tomorrow 
tomorrow look for the guy in a blue t shirt and the georgia hat (go dawgs) with the cute blond with glasses

Dude, if you are bringing the fish, go to the Okaloosa Pier and wave at them as you continue on east. Cross hwy 79 and then take a right on Pier Park drive and head on out to Dan Russell.

i here ya blaminack. we are staying in destin and trying to decide between OIP & RFP. the reports have been sh  at both the last couple of days. the last 2 times we have been down this year it's been  . that's ok though i love coming down and being on any pier or sitting on the beach drinking beer my main reason for coming down this time is teaching the little lady to throw a rod for winter bobo's and spend some time in the room  good times!!!! hope some fish show up

I will be on RFP come Saturday. Bring the wife one day and come drink a few and meet some of the guys. Great crew on the pier. I will be the Googan as usual. (Besides Manny).

That 35# must of got caught right before I got there. I saw some kings get landed. None over 15. Still some decent fish. I didn't try too hard. The bite was sporadic. Lots of ramrods around. Left at 6, saw about 6 kings get munched by flipper and just didn't feel like wasting any time on that.
Did see the hoos jumping pretty good. They just never got chased close enough to throw at. Hoping it's tuna and we might get some this year.

I was out there Tuesday and saw the ballys getting thrashed and that lil 10 15 pound sailfish popped up chasin em around.....he was a cute lil guy.

I will have the Zebco out there Saturday. I actually spooled up some mono on the 706 now but the pink will be on a spare spool. You might see it yet.
