Who's your College Football TeamBrownmarlin kind of started this one with his Miami/FSU poll. I considered a poll but decided just to ask the question.
Who is your favorite College Football Team and Why?
For me it's obviously Alabama. I never had any other choice, as far back as I can remember I said Roll Tide, my first words were possibly Roll Tide or Bear.

Alabama. If I would have chose any other team I would have been disowned. Both my parents attended the university in the day of the Bear non the less. Also I was born the day after Alabama beat Auburn in 1985 Iron Bowl.

FSU. I lived in Jacksoville when Bobby was hired. If I knew then what I know now I would have went to Law school there.

FAMU bitches!
Just kidding. I am not a football fan really. It is just that I have never figured out how one chooses a team to LOVE. I always get a giggle out of my friends that are big college fans, saying things like, "We are gonna kill'em this year." "We don't play this week end". etc. If you never have attended classes at that school, nor did your parents, or do your children, how does this happen??

I have it narrowed down to 2. LSU, because I was born and raised in Louisiana, and Mizzou since I'm in Missouri now. If it comes to a playoff game, LSU all the way.

We VOLS! I admire all the SEC teams, the 'Noles and 'Canes. (All, that is, except the vandy commodeodors. ) I never thought I'd say this, but I have a new favorite team. It's my son's team: the First Cavalry Division of the U.S. Army. They're deployed in Iraq.

LSU is my team for several reasons. Those reasons include that I grew up 8 miles from Tiger Stadium they were the first college football team I ever heard of and later saw, I am an alumni as are both of my parents and several other family members and my grandmother was a huge fan who brainwashed all of her grandchildren.

I get a laugh out of fans saying "we" also. Though I fit your criteria for using "we", I refuse to use anything other than LSU or them in reference to my favorite team. By using "we", fans are stealing the glory from the players and coaches.

Fans are a big part of the game and team, without fans there would be no team.

I wasn't trying to minimize the importance of us, the fans. We fans finance the sports and help to provide a winning atmosphere (for lack of better words). The point I was getting at it is "they", the team, who tackle, run, throw, catch, kick and call plays. The fans provide for the teams and it is up to the teams to execute or not. Wins and losses are a reflection on the team not the fans. A fan can be happy or sad because of the outcome of a game, but if their team wins it doesn't necessarily make that fan any better of a person, the same holds true for losing. If the outcome of a game reflects on a fan, that fan is referred to as a sports bettor.

To be totally honest, i don't have a team. I would like to follow college football, but the only fans i know other than yall are FSU fans. If i was to pick a team this late in the game, I'd choose one who could win a game . But I'm kinda leaning toward Bama. My dad has never really watched sports at all, but its gotta start somewhere. I think I'll stick with Bama from here on out, but i need someone to watch games with, so let me know.

I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, so that should tell you something.
I gotta admit, I do cheer for the Gators also. I still think Tebow is the best quarterback I have ever seen. And, I thought John Parker Wilson was a wush that was scared to death of running the ball and couldn't throw a pass unless both feet were planted on the ground while in the pocket all alone.
