WRAPPING GUIDESWhat kind, and size thread would you use to wrap large wire guides?

Hi Carl,
I use "C" or "D" thread for the guides on a saltwater spinning rod. The nylon upholstery thread
from a sewing shop works just fine!

If ur wrapping under power go up and then down the guide foot using A with light tension. All gaps will be filled on the second pass better than a singel coat of D. Can't stress using light tention enough. U dont want to compress the guide into the blank , this is also the result of more spider cracking around the guide feet.
do a heavy floodcoat on the guide wrappings only(dont go over the edges of the guide wrappings),let saturate through pushing all air out and filling all voids before leveling out. Then final coat at the 12hr. mark so u dont have to scuff and acetone to get a good bond with previos coats.

ernie, thanks for always being so stinkin helpful. ive yet to meet a builder near as good as you, and youre always the first to give assistance and advice. most people that arent even half as good as you are stingy with their techniques and tips.
