WTB Aluminum spool for 704zI have the original spool and am concerned about it cracking when hooked
up ,and drag screaming. Anybody got an aluminum spool they want to part with?

If you pack the base of the spool with dacron you shouldn't have a problem with the spool exploding.

I have 3 47-700 spools. Non are Cracked and will give ya a deal.

I found out something out about some of those spools. If they have the octagonal drag washer stack the spool will not fit on a 700 but if it has a round drag stack it will fit either a 704 or a 700.

Humm,
I have both kinds.
Both reels 700 and 704 and each one will fit each other if that makes sense.

The only difference in the to spools are the depth of the bottom plate which on the Octo drag it is a 1/16 thicker than the round drag spools which on a 700 and a 704 there is about 3/8 clearence on the downward motion of the spool to the rotor cup so the 1/16 difference does not make a difference there.

I prefer to have the round drag anyways simply you can put more line on that spool.
