i thought i was the only one that had problems with the line coming off the manual on a 706, especially when bouncing a jig on the bottom, SE wind a howling. originated as a pipe dream a few years back, i made a handful of experimental rollers that bolted on to the original 706 pin...they had a larger head on them...same size as the mitchell roller, i noticed that the mitchells didnt share the same tendency of dropping the line off the manual. then, i decided to fabricate new pins that would accomodate the same ball bearing roller and put them on the original mitchell PUM arms. the rest is history. i've got some coming out soon. i have to admit, they are pretty sweet. i guess i put the experimentals in the right hands as everybody has really been on me to put some more out. (my poster children include roddy pate, gary wells, mike moore, jimmy roose, chicken, dave broxton, scotty anders, zeke braswell, phil tarver).

I hope I hit on the right combination of availability and money on those that you have coming out. I saw the one that Ferd delivered to Kid Cobia and I can tell you that I am impressed. I want one bad!

Ferd, you know how I feel about this (the rollers) and I hope you don't forget about me on your next batch release. With so many people on this forum interested in your ball bearing rollers, you really should take this more seriously, and take advantage of this forum more. i hear you screaming and it's not that i don't take this seriously...everything i attempt i take seriously. you and Obie are first on the list for keeping such a top shelf site going and i for one really appreciate the efforts you and Obie put forth. i have very limited time to put into the rollers right now since i dont have my shop set up yet, so be patient. i promise, you will hear the sweet sound of a ball bearing roller soon!

do you have a pic does it sorta look van staalish? I had this problem saturday the wind was so hard kept blowing the line off the roller
