I've had to explain gaffs in the back of the truck numerous times.  Or a sudden outburst of obscene language as a hook got me in my back pack, or back pocket.

You may be a pier rat if you have ever washed your cloths with a bait in your back pocket.

You may be a pier rat if you carry a picture of your custom bait bucket in your wallet.

You might be a pier rat if you went in your pocket to pay for something and pulled out sand fleas with your change.

If you've ever run out of pomp jigs and found some extras in the dryer or the washing machine.

Woke up between 2 bobos after fishing for days.
Cut the middle out of a cigar minnow and stuck the head and tail in between two slices of bread and took a bite of it to gross out the tourist.
Took your buddies handle off his 706 and while you are at Mcdonald's he has a First Shot

You might be a pier rat if you've had to decide what stuff in your garage has to be tossed out in order to make room for a bait freezer.

*gives everyone the finger*.

Trust me, not being able to fish is driving me nuts. It's not that I can't fish, it's that the doctor and the insurance company would have fits knowing that I am not supposed to be working but I can somehow be jacking up fish.

Then again, they are giving me steroids for the inflammation, so I'll be the Barry Bonds of Dan Russell when I get better.

You might be a pier rat if...

1.) You own any item of clothing with the "pier pressure" logo on it.

2.) If upon hearing someones line snap when it slipped back on the manual you immediately yell "SELL 'EM AT THE SHACK".

3.) If you ever used a pair of tweezers to pull out old hooks from in between the planks to tie leaders.

4.) If you ever had a serious debate over who could hit a paper bag floating away from the pier the farthest away with a ling jig.

5.) If you ever used two quarters to straighten a leader and it burnt your fingers.

6.) You use every one of your work vacation days between March 10 and June 1st.

If you can't recognize people from the pier away from the pier because you can't remember what they look like without sunglasses on.

You might be a Pier Rat if >>>  you've ever paid a tourist  $1 for a Winn Dixie cold can drink because you were too LAZY to walk to the drink machine.

>>> You go to Tourists for hooks, weights, etc because the locals won't give them to you anymore.

>>> You've given somebody a Gotcha lure for a dead ciigar minnow because somebody just caught a King

>>> if you've sold a king mackerel which has been sunning on the pier (for 3+ hours)  to a tourist.

>>> if you have to borrow a knife to clean your fish because you're too cheap to buy your own or you "FORGOT YOURS"

and the list goes on & on
