Those newer Stradics just don't catch the eye like the older ones do. _________________ This message was brought to you by the Partnership for a Googan-Free America. |

Now that things have changed I vote for the Sargus all the way. Ignore Jewfish he's a Penn basher anyway. LOL ! Go baitcaster and get a Calcutta. _________________ I'd rather be Pompano fishing ! |

Looking to get a new stradic or two soon. _________________

I looked at Shimano's very own description of this reel.
http://fish.shimano.com/publish/c.../reels/spinning/Stradic_MgFB.html
I found this amazing that Shimano has figured out a way to reconfigure the structure of an element and the first thing they did was apply it to fishing tackle. This is simply Nobel Prize winning stuff here or the bold work of some marketer that will go to any length to make up some BS to sell their product.

Jace, get the Sahara. The only real difference in the sahara 3000 and the stradic mg is a little bit of weight and the line roller system. The weight is almost negligeable and the rollers in saharas are awesome. similar to what they put in the old stradics. I have a 3000 and 2500 Sahara that I've been "field testing" for almost a year now. Still, not one complaint and I purposely neglect the reels. An occasional rinse if I rinse the truck and they happen to be back there, but no real care for them.
