"Todd River" picked me up @ 5:30 am and we were on on our way from Scott's Landing on the Blakely River a little after 6 (with 4 dozen live insurance policies

After a CHILLY ride up the Blakely we started drifting down the Tensaw by sunup 8)

Only saw a few other boats around fishing, but it sounded like WWIII down at the Mudhole Creek duck hunters

Todd was chunking arties and I went to "the darkside" early and it quickly paid off

And NO, I wasn't cold at all

After watching me land 4 keepers (to none) Todd FINALLY reeled one in on shrimp
A nice fat 18"r

But where's the challenge in that.

We did chunk more arties, did best on DOAs just drifting or a slight twitch.
Landed a bunch of specks with 9 kept out of about 40 (most on LIVE shrimp)
Finished up the drift with a nice "keeper" double caught under some birds (no pics the camera battery died

Then we ran downriver and met up with some fellow ACFA members.
Saw a couple more too, but we didn't get to talk.
Anyway we jawed with them a while and we caught a few more dinks drifting but the morning bite had fizzled.

So Todd & I headed back toward the "Crawseway" and ended up fishing in the Apalachee River.
Watched two guys in a CC put on a catching clinic (without a net
We caught some more dink specks, a few were just over 14", but we only kept one about 17".
We caught at least a dozen green trout (kept 3). I also had two 17" redfish (released).
Total kept was 10 specks (gave Todd the biggest 5) 3 green trout and a 12" white trout.
Here's my "money shot"

It turned out to be a nice day once the chill eased, though it never really warmed up due to the thickening high clouds and gusty east wind.
But it was great to be on the water and catch some fish again.
Great company (thanks for taking me and my shrimp Todd

And thank You Lord!

Thanks for the awesome report and the wonderful pictures. Those trout look as healthy as any I've seen. Do you know the Tensaw water temp?

Thanks guys!
That is a very healthy fishery this year.
LOTS of shrimp due to the persistent drought (salty conditions well up into the delta all year).

Obie the water was 58 degrees by the depth finder sensor
